Remembering

Sunday was our day to remember our daughter Jessica, who died suddenly and unexpectedly when she was 6 1/2 months old. It's been fifteen years. Below is Naomi with a drawing she made showing our three girls together, if Jessica were alive with us today.

We had a good 3-day family weekend together, thanks to Matt taking the day off yesterday. We spent a lot of time hanging out together doing normal weekendy sorts of things, making (and enjoying) a cake in honor of Jessica, and going on a long drive yesterday to explore a bit of our state that we hadn't seen before. :)

It was a good time of being together as a family and remembering Jessica, who is still part of our family, though not here with us. I am so glad that because of Christ's death on the cross, we have the confidence that we will see her again one day when we get to heaven. :)

Here are some links to past blog posts about Jessica, if you'd like to read them. Here's her birth story, here's a story I wrote about her death (it's a tear-jerker), and here are my thoughts 4 years ago.
