The first photo is out the kitchen window. This time, you really *can* see the EuroVan parked out there... no snow! It's looking kind of brown out there, but within a couple of months it will be nice & green! :)
It looks like the beach goes waaayyy out there, but beyond the sand dune, there are "icebergs" of built-up snow & ice from the lake beating against the shore all winter long. They look like sand dunes right now because a lot of the ice has melted, revealing the sand that got blended in with the ice & snow during the winter.
We always wonder at what point the ice on the lake will be gone, and I just saw some photos from April 11 last year that showed no ice whatsoever out there. We shall see when they'll be gone this spring...

Funny how much larger your van looks with out the snow.
I didn't realize you live right on the water...that's some lake!. Out here Lake's are so much smaller. What a beautiful place to live. :)
Hi Roberta!
Yes, we live right on the lake. We're getting into the time of year when we really enjoy it most, though it's always beautiful to look out the window at "our" lake, no matter the time of year.
We have lots of bonfires on the beach once the snow is gone. I think soon we'll have our first fire and have the traditional burning of our Christmas tree, which has been waiting in our yard for that moment. :)
One of our favorite family traditions is watching our town's 4th of July fireworks display from our beach. If you look up and down the beach that night, you'll see beach fires dotting the shore both ways. :)
That's Canada on the other side, by the way, and I'm sure you can see why they call them the Great Lakes! :)
Bye for now...
Shall we come up for the 4th of July again this year? We love to watch the fireworks with you! We'll have to see what's happening then!
Heidi,
That sounds fun! We always enjoy having your family, whatever the time of year. It's always fun to "do" the parade & enjoy fireworks with you, too, and to celebrate Sam's birthday together. :)
We don't have plans yet for the 4th, but I do know Dean & Lisa are making plans to come up *sometime* this summer. :) Not sure when, yet.
We'd love to have you come this summer!!
Amy :)
Bonfires and fireworks...how awesome that would be!
I don't see any land across the water, but I'll take your word for it. It amazes me how wondrously creative God is..even in the vast scenic differences in our own country.
