the summer (??) of tiles, part five.

Yes, it's true. The tiles are done!!!

As it turns out, tiling the entryway, front closet and half bath didn't take that long, but it did take having a deadline to get us to work on it.  We're in the process of being licensed for foster care, and our safety inspection is on December 8th, next Tuesday.

I started dry fitting whole tiles and cut a few edge pieces about two weeks ago, shortly after we had our date for the inspection.

Then last Friday (Thanksgiving weekend), Matt cut all the rest of the tiles.

Then we laid all the tiles on Saturday. We finished up about 11:00 that night, bodies sore but so, so glad to have it done.

Yesterday afternoon, I grouted the tiles while Matt was at work. It feels fantastic to have the job done!

It's been quite the ride, working on this project. We started while the kids were at summer camp and finished with Christmas music playing in the background. It was a huge job, and we'll both be glad to not have a tile project for a long, long time!
